After walking through over 100 motor yachts in the last few days, I know I am biased, but for a sailor like me, stepping onto a proper sailing yacht is a breath of fresh air. And BLACK LION is proper. She has had a total refit, so everything feels new, from the teak deck to the cabins, and she is in fantastic condition. But what I like most is that she is clearly built with performance in mind, not just to look pretty at anchor.
If you want the nerdy bit, she is a one-off carbon-fiber Nauta custom, around 72 tonnes full load (which is very light for a yacht this size), with about 420 square meters of sail area upwind. So when you also start noticing details like the titanium rails instead of stainless steel, you get an idea of what this yacht was intended for. This is a yacht where weight matters. She is for people who really want to sail.
She sleeps 10 guests in 4 cabins: a master, a twin in the bow, and then two stern cabins with three beds each, with a bunk and a single in both. So not your standard layout, but a very workable one for the right group. Overall, this is not the yacht I would pick for someone who just wants a floating villa. This is for people who want the real sailing experience, and in Greece, the meltemi wind is free fuel!
